Riding and releasing fear at the cellular level

jade and bailey

I’ve worked with a handful of riders who had deep fear-issues, some of whom had many years of riding and horse-ownership.  What needs to be understood, and addressed, is the way the body stores fear-memory at the cellular level. Yoga, breathwork, grounding and relaxation techniques need to be incorporated- otherwise the trainer and the horse will always be working  “upstream”..against that existing current of fear-memory.

another big aspect of addressing the “overcoming fear”…is the absolute release of expectation and outcomes.  Again, at the cellular level, it is re-training the energy-body.  On the first level,  it is essential to create safe-space.  Even if it is sitting on the horse at the Mounting block and never taking one step.

Additionally, work with all new students on a longe line- even if they have ridden with other trainers or have experience coming into the barn.  Teach them that it is about calibrating to new-horses, and not about their skill level as a rider.  If a rider objects to this, as an insult to their skill– this also speaks volumes about their pride, versus their intuition-empathy. Pride and ego are not the most compatible companions for building relationship and partnership with horses…. those need to be put aside, before intuition, connection can come forward to create genuine rapport.  Ultimately, it is always about “building relationship,”  and those need to be grounded in trust and awareness. Animals: Intuition, information and making life-death decisions

Wookie: 17.2 OTTB slaughter rescue

I recently came across a question on one of my threads about whether putting their dog down was the right decision. I couldn’t answer the question, as I really didn’t have enough information.  But the question raised a  lot of important issues, worth discussion

What was the problem with the dog? what was the disease? And what is the treatment.. is this a permanent condition? why wasn’t it being resolved? Very often the approaches of western medicine, including veterinary medicine- do not look at the whole system.. do not take into account, or ask the question: how do we help the body heal and return to its optimal function?without knowing this- making a life-determining decision wouldn’t be optimal. On the spiritual- moral note.. there are no right/wrong answers. There are no answers, only choices.

Only the person making the choice, can know if it is the right choice. No one else, should ever take choice out of a persons hands. What anyone, even a medical practitioner should be doing, is adequately arming and informing a person so that they can make the best wise choice for themselves and all concerned. They won’t be the ones second guessing choices for years afterwards, or crying for the loss… will they? Read more »

Who will fix our Educational system?

Here’s really good question on the failed-state of Education- who can initiate that change?

I imagine that it will emerge organically, by those for whom the system has failed.

Home schooling- may be one place where change will emerge.  I think it used to be that most parents chose to home school for religious reasons ( which is their choice, and fine).  I think more and more, parents are choosing to home school for a wider range of reasons:  The quality and approach to public education, the lack of holistic approach and the watering down of curriculum- placing standardised testing and social conformity over actual learning and critical thinking. Education: a Failed-State

I was just chatting about the educational system.  Someone noted that this is not anything new– the failed-state of education.  It was failed a long time ago.. yep! Absolutely! it is like people in a house that should be condemned, moving the furniture around.. thinking that will improve circumstances.. and then they serve tea and cakes:)

Nope- definitely not new.  but somehow it seems to be getting swept under the carpet a lot. Esp around the whole NCLB and testing/ competencies.  you know who the testing benefits the most…? the corporations that produce the tests!

It never ceases to amaze me, whether it is schools, or national politics etc.. how blindly people will remain loyal to the sinking ship… it is a failed system for today’s needs.  period.  The model was developed to create functional workers who would then have a job for life, on the assembly line in manufacturing.  THAT is the energetic paradigm. That economic model.  It’s DEAD! .. Read more »

Today’s Educational Model: 3 C’s supplant the 3 R’s and creativity dies

I remember when I did my masters… we had one aspect where they wanted us to explore best practices in education, visit top models and talk to the experts… I noted 2 things.. 1- I was NOT going to go look at the best model of a failed system.. instead, I went to a place where kids had succeeded beyond expectations…

and 2.. gasp and shock.. I talked to the experts.. you know.. the kids! imagine that…

Kids are far more aware and savvy than teachers and schools give them credit for- and you’d be amazed at how much they will share when they know you are actually listening and not paying lip service.

btw- the school I visited for my Masters project was Simon’s Rock in Mass. It is/ was the first early college model in the country. Students usually enroll after tenth grade, and complete their associates degree and receive a High School diploma at that same time. Note that this is an actual college, with professors teaching from some of the most prestigious universities around the country. When I asked a History Professor if she had to scale her curriculum because she was working with younger students. She noted that she did. BUT, it was scaled UP. She noted that the younger students challenged her far more than students from an ivy league school where she had taught previously. Imagine that!

Now, lest anyone think this is a cherry-picked population and that they were privileged or highly gifted learners.. they might have been.. but what follows can readily refute and prejudice against the fullest potential of younger scholars… Read more »

Vibrational energy of diet, meat and healing

it's okay- goats are not dinner:)

In terms of spiritual messages, consciousness and health- there have been ongoing discussions about the needs to eat meat, versus whether we, as a species, are evolving to a place where eating meat is almost detrimental and un-necessary.

I’m kind of on the fence on this one. I have heard both sides of these discussions on various occasions over the last 5-10 years.

If it were me…. Read more »
